ADVOCACY AND MENTORING
RESIDENTIAL CARE
Sydney Care is a semi-independent provider that is run and managed by an experienced and practicing social worker
Sydney Care offers semi-independent care for 16 – 18-year-old children. We are noted specialists in the care service for individuals who are at risk to themselves or others including ex-offenders or children with complex needs. Our staff and home units can provide an environment to contain complex behaviour and carry out the tail end of ex-offender rehabilitation. We operate and deliver a measurable approach to the care service with individual cases. Our trained and experienced staff monitor and report on self-development targets on a weekly basis through our snapshot reports.
Our care service is deeply integrated into learning and training – keeping our individuals busy with a defined career direction. Our stakeholder relationships are competent and detailed. Information advice and guidance offered by designated staff is an ongoing process even when residents leave their homes as fully independent individuals.
Personal Development and Self Care
At Sydney Care, we are able to offer a self-development plan to our individuals with complex behaviour and emotional issues. We work with them to help minimise the negative effects of the past, offering stability and balance. our advocacy and mentoring aspect of care involves working closely with external providers and various stakeholders offering detailed reports of target progress for each individual under our care. We are able to define a plan of action that is objectives-led and will not hesitate to use all the resources and expertise at our disposal to help our individuals develop into assets to society with a greater grasp of self-worth and a positive mindset. Our trained staff offer themselves as mentors for life (MFL) – Positive role models that remain in the lives of our individuals even when their placement comes to an end.
We work extensively with YOS, CAMHS, and other related organisations. We regularly review our partner policies and procedures to improve the strengths of our services through detailed reports working with stakeholders to offer the best solutions to support our individuals.
Our weekly key work sessions are tailored to the individual with a clear and open line of communication between staff and individuals. We run an open-door policy where our clients are encouraged to open up and express their feelings.
